Night is about Elie Wiesel and his childhood growing up in a Nazi concentration camp. Night is a very descriptive, and well written novel, and teachers often enjoy using Elie's story for class reading. Parts of the book are dark and  depressing to read, but once you pick up this book, you won't be able to put it back down. Highly suggested to anyone interested in learning more about the Holocaust!

The Book Thief is my favorite book, hands down; nothing is able to compare. Markus Zusak has surely outdone himself with this powerful work of literature. As Death himself narrates the story, he introduces you to Nazi Germany, a Jewish boxer, a lemon haired boy, and, of course, our book thief, Liesel Meminger. It was written in 2005 and  became a movie in 2013. I highly recommend it!

Daniel Clay was inspired by To Kill a Mockingbird to write his own novel Broken. In the story you meet Skunk, a 12 year old girl forced to grow up and experience first hand how dark the world can be. I bought this book on impulse and I certainly did not regret my decision. This book will send you on a roller coaster of emotions. In 2012 It became a movie and won the Best British Independent Film Award.

If traditional horror is not enough for you anymore, then you will want to pick up  American Psycho. This is the most gory, violent, and disturbing book I have ever read. It took me a few tries to finally finish it. Their is no doubt that I will never forget this book. It is sure to spark your interest back into horror.

It's witty at times, infuriating at others. This is a play on revenge, lies, and regret. It just goes to show how a little bit of jealously can consume a person, and you should be careful who you trust.
