A Read & Review Club Teacher Review: The Galaxy Pirates: Hunt for the Pyxis by Zoe Ferraris

The CHB Read & Review Club is for educators and students who enjoy reading and would like to share the joy of reading with others through reviewing and recommending books. As a bookshop, we often receive special review copies of books in advance of their release dates so that we can review them. However, since we can only read so many books and we value the thoughts and opinions of other readers, CHB is recruiting educators and students to read and review advance reader copies (or arcs) of books that we receive, and we'll post their reviews on the Cavalier House Books website via theRead & Review Club Blog!

Sherry LaJaunie is a special education teacher at Thibodeaux Elementary. She enjoys children's literature and young adult books, particulary in the paranormal, dystopian, and historical fiction genres. She is a member of the Read & Review Educators Club, and she has written a review of The Galaxy Pirates: Hunt for the Pyxis by Zoe Ferraris! Check out what she has to say about the book:

The Galaxy Pirates: Hunt for the Pyxis by Zoe Ferraris is an interesting story about a young girl who learns her parents were once pirates in outer space. After her parents are kidnapped, Emma and her friend Herbie take the family yacht on a journey to outer space to find them. I enjoyed reading about Emma and Herbie’s friendship as well as their adventures. The many revelations along the way made the story interesting and kept me turning the pages. I definitely loved the monkeys and dragons! This adventure on the intergalactic seas is filled with thrills, villains, and magical creatures and ships! This would be a story I would love to share with my third and fourth grade students as well as with my son.

Thanks to Sherry for her review!
