Celebrate Banned Books Week - with a Poll!

Banned Books Week is a celebration of the freedom of speech and the freedom to read.  It is held annually during the last week in September.  It celebrates the FREADOM to read and experience ideas even if others might not agree with them. We at CHB, as an independent bookstore, particularly value freedom of speech and the freedom of our customers to choose freely what to read! This week we're celebrating books that others have attempted to ban (or unfortunately, sometimes succeeded in banning), in the spirit of that freedom!

A movement in the corner of her sight -

A small, thin creature suddenly appeared!

It was a lizard, running quick away,

For her approach had given him a fright.

She named him Harry and she let him stay;

It suited him and seemed entirely right.

A Read & Review Club Review: Twist My Charm: The Popularity Spell by Toni Gallagher

The CHB Read & Review Club is for educators and students who enjoy reading and would like to share the joy of reading with others through reviewing and recommending books. As a bookshop, we often receive special review copies of books in advance of their release dates so that we can review them.
