What is Comic Con? 

Inspired by the annual mega-event that takes place in San Diego, the LPL Comic Con is a celebration of all things comic book, movie, television, and pop culture! Want to cosplay as your favorite character? Why not? Want to “totally geek out” over the latest issue of your favorite comic? Feel free. No matter your fandom, Comic Con is the place to celebrate it. Costumes are not required to attend this free event, but they are definitely encouraged.

Cavalier House Books is so excited to partner with Pop Shop Records to host Elizabeth Keenan signing her debut novel, Rebel Girls, on Saturday September 21^st at Pop Shop Records in Mid City BR!

Punk rock, girl power, a young riot grrrl and her conservative sister all come together in this novel set in 1990s Baton Rouge. You will want to bring this YA novel into your life for all of those vintage Chimes Street vibes!

Elizabeth Keenan is a musicologist with a PhD in punk rock and a Baton Rouge native so basically, everything about her is awesome.

Will you be joining us on August 29th to discuss The Song of Achilles? Sophie is hosting book club this month and she is certain that once you pick this one up you will not be able to put it down! Madeline Miller's novel is one that truly broke her heart and she has returned to it time and again since her initial read!
