We have a bit of news!

After thirteen years of leasing space in the Denham Springs Antique Village, we have purchased a forever home for Cavalier House Books!

Just a stone's throw from our original location our new shop will be located at 114 N. Range Ave. We will keep you all posted on prospective opening dates, but for now we just wanted to share our excitement!

We are so grateful to Mrs. Florence Crowder. After operating Crowder Antiques for over twenty years, I know it was hard to let go but we are thrilled to be a part in this 100 year old building's new chapter!

A Sitting in St. James

A tour de force from three-time National Book Award finalist Rita Williams-Garcia, this story of an antebellum plantation—and the enduring legacies of slavery upon every person who lives there—is essential reading for both teens and adults grappling with the long history of American racism. With six starred reviews so far, the book is now in paperback!

1860, Louisiana. After serving as mistress of Le Petit Cottage for more than six decades, Madame Sylvie Guilbert has decided, in spite of her family’s objections, to sit for a portrait.

Last Chance Texaco

This troubadour life is only for the fiercest hearts, only for those vessels that can be broken to smithereens and still keep beating out the rhythm for a new song.

Last Chance Texaco is the first-ever no-holds-barred account of the life of two-time Grammy Award-winner Rickie Lee Jones in her own words. It is a tale of desperate chances and impossible triumphs, an adventure story of a girl who beat the odds and grew up to become one of the most legendary artists of her time, turning adversity and hopelessness into timeless music.
