2021 Southern Book Prize Winners

The Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance has announced the winners of the 2021 Southern Book Prize! The Prize, representing southern bookseller favorites from 2020, is awarded to “the best Southern book of the year” as nominated by Southern indie booksellers and voted on by their customers. Winners were chosen by popular vote from a ballot of favorite bookseller “hand sells” in fiction, nonfiction, and children’s literature, making each Southern Book Prize winner a true Southern reader favorite.

World Read Aloud Day

John was invited to virtually visit Mrs. Sharpe's class for World Read Aloud Day last week. He had a blast reading his favorite poem, The Jabberwocky.

This week we received a collection of thank you notes from the kids. They thanked John for his time and introducing them to this poem. It was so kind and courteous, but the BEST part was that many of the kids drew their interpretation of the Jabberwocky or wrote about their favorite elements of the poem. The creativity of these 5th graders is just beyond!!!
