We want to say thank you again to everyone that has reached out to offer us support in this time. We are so grateful for our community!
As of May 4th, we have reopened - but in a limited capacity. We have abbreviated our hours for the time being and are open from 10am to 4pm Monday through Saturday. We ask that everyone entering the store please wear a mask for our safety and the safety of others. (If there is a medical or accessibility reason that you cannot wear a mask, please let us know and we are happy to assist you outside of our hours that we are open to the public).
We are seriously missing our face to face time with all of you! Very much looking forward to the time when we can all hang out again. In the meantime, we cannot express enough how much we appreciate your support.
Here are a few ways you can support Cavalier House Books:
Purchase a book through our website at www.cavalierhousebooks.com
Purchase a gift card by calling the shop at 225-664-2255
Subscribe to our favorite audiobook service, Libro.fm, by clicking here. It's past time to break up with that other, less cool audibook company!
Want to support CHB but aren't spending right now? We get that! And thank you for thinking of us!! If you can follow along with our journey on social media, like and share our posts, this is a huge help! We can be found on Facebook @cavalierhousebooks, Twitter @chbbookstore, and Instagram @chbbookstore.
It is definitely interesting being a community space at a time when people are urged not to commune. We are thinking about ways to keep in touch. We will be announcing our virtual book club soon! And seriously, we cannot say thank you enough to the number of you who have called, texted, DMed, emailed, and placed orders through our website.
We understand that many people are limiting spending right now and we fully support that choice. However, we would like to ask that if you are making purchases, that you reach out to a local brick and mortar business. We are all doing everything we can to weather this and as a community, we will. Shopping local is more important now than it ever has been.
We know that our community spaces will be back! When we all gather together after this even the introverts among us will be thrilled to be in large groups again!
Happy reading to all of you! All our best, John and Michelle
