I am always excited to begin a new reading journey and joining in with the second #TolstoyTogether readalong has already been a thrill at just a few days in. Looking forward to really digging in to War and Peace even if it does feel somewhat intimidating here in the early stages.
Tolstoy Together: 85 Days of War and Peace is a daily communal reading journal of reflections--with commentary on craft and technique, historical context, and character studies, that includes a schedule and framework, providing a daily motivating companion for Tolstoy's novel. This companion showcases the global community that joined in to the first Tolstoy Together readalong and serves as a brilliant momento to that time, but more importantly for first time readers like me, it offers a grounding into the novel. It's as though we are being welcomed in to Anna Pavlovna's salon! There's still plenty of time to join in the readalong, who's with me?!?
"You know how, very occasionally in your life, there's a 'before and after' reading experience? Well, reading War and Peace with Tolstoy Together has been that for me--a milestone not just in reading but in living."--Michael Langan
From the award-winning translators of Anna Karenina and The Brothers Karamazov comes this magnificent new translation of Tolstoy's masterwork.
